Gale Kerwin, a Canadian Boxing legend, former Ottawa Alderman and Real Estate Broker of the family firm: Kerwin Realties Limited.
During his professional boxing career, from 1953 to 1962, Mr. Kerwin fought four world champions, and rose to become the No. 10 contender in the welterweight division. He often fought at Madison Square Gardens in New York and took Canada's welterweight title in 1958.
He is a member of the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame. |

Mr. Kerwin represented a Dalhousie Ward on Ottawa council for four years, until 1974. During his time as alderman, Gale was always arguing for more recreational facilities for teens. It was his belief that if you gave them a place away from the streets, there'd be less trouble on the streets. He was an astute politician and worked very hard for his constituents.
Gale Kerwin was a successful business man in the City of Ottawa and Real Estate Broker. He had an excellent code of ethics working with his clients; built a reputation of trust.
